Deep evergreen tulle, tier after ruffled tier, scattered all over with gold foil stars that flash whenever your kid turns. Look closely and there are appliqués tucked into the layers too: candy canes, Santa hats, mittens.
It is a lot of cape for one small person, which is rather the point. Down the stairs it goes, wide and green and full of stars, with the tinsel on the railing doing its best to keep up.
