A camper van that begins as a plain turquoise matchbox. Push the shapes out of the printed card sheet, press them on with the glue dots provided, and the box picks up orange wheel panels, a peace-sign windscreen, a flower stripe along the side and a number plate reading LOVE 1. There's a pennant on a little pole for the back, because every road trip needs a flag.
The round opening in the roof is the driver's seat, ready for whichever small toy is nearest, and then it's off down the hallway to the coast. It all arrives in a kraft envelope with an A6 instruction card, which makes it an easy thing to slip into a party bag or to open at the kitchen table on a slow afternoon.

Why we love it
Glue dots instead of a glue pot, so there's no drying time and no waiting around before the van can take its first spin. Everything needed is in the envelope, and the whole thing costs eight dollars.
