The guests have arrived early, and they dressed up. A black cat in a striped party hat and an orange and black ruff, a smiling pumpkin with a pink collar and a dotted white coat, a rosy-cheeked witch in a copper-banded hat and pink skirt, and a skeleton showing off white ribs on kraft brown. Each one is a cracker, tied at the ends with cord.
Inside every character waits a copper party hat, a sticker sheet, a paper doll and a joke. Give each place setting its own guest and let your kid work out who gets the cat. There’s a joke to read aloud, a hat to try on, and a paper doll to introduce to the rest of the guests.
