The gold glitter is the part to look at twice. It runs down the middle of each long feather, a thin sparkling line on pink, sky blue, lemon and lilac, so the wings glint a little whenever they move.
Up at the shoulders the feathers turn soft and downy, all those pastels mixed together like a cloud that couldn’t pick a favorite color. Below that they fall in pointed layers, longest at the outer edges.
