A tall midnight blue cone that rises to a soft, slightly tipped point, with gold stars and a crescent moon appliquéd down the side. Around the brim, two gathered ruffles, deep blue over shining gold, frame the face like a cloud at dusk.
It comes home for Halloween and then refuses to leave. Someone puts it on, raises a hand over the cereal bowl, and announces that the milk is now starlight.
Moonlight wizard
A light blue tulle cape scattered with gold stars, the star wand that comes with it, and the velvet-soft moon-and-stars hat with a ruffled brim. Both one size. Spells work better with the hat on; every wizard says so.
