The hat went on first, you can tell. It’s a tall blue cone dotted with shiny stars, perched between two big pink ears, and it gives this mouse the air of a guest who takes birthdays very seriously.
The rest of the outfit keeps up: a red-and-white striped top, a gathered pink skirt covered in gold stars, and a long pink tail trailing out behind. Her stitched face has one lashy eye, a brown nose and a small, pleased smile, as if she already knows which slice of cake is hers.
Pull up a seat for her at a pretend party and let your kid decide whose birthday it is. With that hat, she’ll assume it’s hers.

Why we love it
She’s a birthday gift that turns up already dressed for the occasion, and she’s still good company once the party’s over.
