Somebody in this story has made peace with the mouse. This cat wears one across her body on a gold strap, as a purse, and it goes with everything. Her burgundy top meets a purple skirt full of golden leaves and bright flowers, while an oversized burgundy mesh bow sits between her ears like it has opinions.
Up close, there’s plenty of handwork to admire: a stitched patch curving around one eye, embroidered whiskers, rosy cheeks and lacy socks. Your kid can send her out on the day’s errands with the mouse along for company. When she gets back, her shoebox, printed with white lace, becomes her bed. Cats have always known the best spot in the house is a box.
